Where can i find a good small block 350 rebuild kit? Looking to increase power?
As the title says im looking for a 350 rebuild kit that will improve my engine power... I am willing to look into geting a stroker engine but i just dont know how well they compare to 350s in power if its even worth getting that much
well, just rebuilding it really isn't going to do much for power. Boring it .030 over only gives you.... 1.01 percent displacement increase. Thats pretty close to nothing. A 383 stroker will bump that increase up to 10-11%, thats a little more reasonable. Both of those options increase displacement but do nothing about fuel. Burning fuel is what makes things go.
For power increases a rebuild is just the basic starting point. It gets you back to what you were supposed to be at. Power increases require changing/modifying parts and tuning.
IMHO, the best bang/buck ratio is with gearing changes. If you have a 350 your vehicle is probably geared for mileage, and has a pretty high gear ratio. If you can stand loosing the top end drop your gears 20-30%. You will be pleasantly suprised...
